BioChain's tissue products are based on the sample repository network established following the IRB-approved ethical standard and procedures. BioChain's formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue section line encompasses a large selection of tissue sections which are suitable for immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization assays. The tissue sections are approximately 5 um thick. Each slide contains tissue from a single human tumor. Documentation of tissues' clinical histories may be available upon request. For those customers who want to perform FFPE DNA and RNA isolation, BioChain can provide tissue section slices in tubes instead of mounting them on glass slides.

BioChain's tissue products are based on the sample repository network established following the IRB-approved ethical standard and procedures. BioChain's Frozen Tissue Slides are ideal for rapidly identifying cellular localization of RNA or protein. A single human adult normal tissue with 5-10 um thickness is mounted on a positively charged glass slide. The slides are fixed and dehydrated with acetone for consistent results with in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. More organs may be available upon request.

Quantitative Genomic RNA from Human parainfluenzavirus 3 strain C 243 can be used for assay development, verification, and validation as well as monitoring of day-to-day test variation and lot-to-lot performance of molecular-based assays. The quantitative format allows for the generation of a standard curve for quantitative PCR (qPCR) to determine viral load.

Mycobacterium smegmatis strain mc(2)155 was derived from an existing strain (- mc(2)154) that was grown in the absence of kanamycin. This whole-genome sequenced bacterial strain is sensitive to kanamycin and can be used as a transformation host.

This strain was isolated from a 10-year-old boy with asthma in San Diego with asthma in 2009 and was deposited by the California Department of Health. It can be used in respiratory disease research.

Human respiratory syncytial virus strain 18537 is a high-titer preparation that is propagated in HEp-2 cells (ATCC CCL-23). This strain was isolated in 1962 from the respiratory secretions of a child with acute respiratory disease seen at Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC, and was deposited by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). It has applications in virucide testing, respiratory research, assay development and vaccine development.
